As part of our commitment to reduce the carbon footprint of the villas, we have added two electric bikes for the use of our patrons. The e-bikes are ergonomically designed with soft saddles and comfort grips and configured with paddle-assist technology for an enjoyable ride.They can reach speeds of up to 35 kmph, allowing you to enjoy a quick ride to explore the hustle and bustle of Ambalangoda town or visit the nearby Sri Lankan traditional mask and puppet factories during the day
If you’re up for an adventure, get comfortable in one of our sturdy kayaks and push off the riverside deck with a partner for a tranquil row along the Madampe. Fair warning, this requires a bit of upper body strength but the technique is very easy to grasp and the views are so worth it! Maneuver around the islands teeming with life, observe the local monkey troupes jump around treetops, and listen to the call of the wild.
Choose between a 1 or 3-hour boat ride along the Madampe, guided by one of the locals in the area. With a wealth of knowledge and an eye for nature, they’ll help you spot the local monkey troupes, sea eagles, and migratory birds that hide amongst the lush mangroves. The ride will pass by local temples, a cinnamon oil factory, and heritage sites of great cultural pride!
Spice up your dinner with BBQ on a boat as you float on the Madampe river. Hosted by a trusted local in the area, the fully equipped boat will allow you to cook your own meat and enjoy a chilled beverage as the cool winds carry you along the water.
